10U ECHANIZ GETS THEIR FIRST HARDWARE. TSB RAIN DODGER RUNNER UP

April 13-14 2019

TSB Rain Dodger Tournament in Melisa, TX turned into a one-day event after three teams dropped out due to weather concerns. That left a field of 5 teams competing at the Melisa Zadow Community Park. After a re-shuffle of the schedule, 10U Echaniz drew the 8AM and 9:15AM (yeah... game duration were also shortened to one hour for pool games only!!). So that meant an early wake up for these boys, who split the pool games and ended up with the 3 seed. As often happens in bracket games, the games started to fall behind as teams were fighting to stay alive. At 8:30PM, the Grapevine Mustangs faced the ASB 10U Echaniz in the Championship (that was already late for 10 year olds!). But they started the top of the inning with a 5-3 ground ball for the first out. The second batter got on HBP. Three hole hit a 6-3-5 double play to end the inning. Boys were super exited. However, at the top of the fourth, all hell broke lose and demonstrated how endurance becomes a factor.

10U Echaniz walks away as the Runner Up in the TSB Rain Dodger with silver rings. They hope this is the first of many long days of baseball.

Very proud of all the boys and all the hard work they've put in this season.

WAY TO GO ASB!!!
